Harbor Trinity Church partners with parents in raising their children to follow Christ. We offers a variety of opportunities for children to connect with each other and loving adults in order to grow up in Jesus. Sunday mornings are planned to meet the needs of children and parents from birth through fifth grade. Age appropriate classes are offered at 8:30 and 10:00 a.m. Children in 1st - 5th grades start the 10:00 a.m. worship with their parents until they are excused to go with their Leaders to Kid's Church upstairs for the remainder of the hour. Our secondary goal is to train church leaders through the many volunteer opportunities that are essential in ministering to children.
Our Vision
The Children’s Ministries Team’s role is to support parents in the spiritual development of their children. Our purpose statement is clear and simple, “Teaching children to know, love and follow Jesus”. It is a great mission because it is progressive and it is cyclical. A person must know who Jesus is to love Him. The result of loving Jesus is to try and follow His example. The process of following Jesus helps us to know and love Him more!
The process begins in the Nursery. Babies are lovingly cared for, creating positive first impressions of Jesus and His church. Learning that Jesus loves them and hearing basic Bible truths helps 2 – 5 year olds establish a foundation for faith. School-age children are capable of understanding the concepts necessary to choose Jesus as their Savior. The children need to see examples of people living out God’s purposes in front of them as well as learning to study His word for themselves. Children worship, enjoy fellowship, grow, serve and reach out in their own unique ways.
Beyond Sunday Mornings
Winter and Summer camps are opportunities for kids in upper elementary grades to have “mountain-top experiences” with Jesus. We have seasonal favorites like the Easter Egg Hunt, Operation Christmas Child and new things in the works always! Speaking of new things "Jingle Jam," a family production is coming on December 13th at 6 p.m. Regular Family Times Productions will debut in January '09! We want to create an environment for families with school-aged children to worship Jesus and learn together. More details will be coming soon.
Joining the Team
Do you want to make a difference? In this world, parents need support from the church family. The same Biblical principles taught at home need to be reinforced by others. Children’s Ministries is a place to learn and grow along with kids. They teach us about child-like faith. Come join the Children’s Ministry team. After screening we will find the right position for your gifts and interests.
ENROLLMENT FORMS
Parent and guardians of all children who attend our Children's Ministries are asked to annually fill out a Ministry Enrollment Form. That form is also available for downloading from this website by clicking here. Completed forms may be printed then returned as a hard copy or via email or fax. Emailed forms must be signed when received and printed by the church to be a valid Medical Release.
